Care tips:
Enclosure: Use a 10 gallon or larger terrarium for baby Corn Snakes. Make sure the snake is no more than twice as long as its enclosure. Also provide hiding places and branches for the snake to climb on. Provide a secure enclosure because Corn Snakes are known as great escape artists. Substrate: You can use Aspen shavings, Sani-chips, cypress mulch, and news paper as a substrate for your pet Corn Snake.
Habitat: Corn Snakes love hiding spaces and branches to climb on. Keep humidity at 40-60%.
Temperature and Lighting: Temperatures during the day should be kept around 80-85° F. Night temperature should be between 75-80° F. Under tank heaters work well for maintaining a proper temperature. Check the temperatures with a thermometer if you are unsure of the conditions within the enclosure. Corn Snakes need 10-12 hours of day light. Use red lights to view your pet snakes at night.
Food and Water: Baby Corn Snakes will eat pinky mice. As they get older they will eat fuzzy mice as juveniles and adult mice and fuzzy rats as adults. Frozen/thawed rodents, such as Mack’s Natural Reptile Food Frozen Rodents, are always best because live rodents may harm your snake. Feed Corn Snakes once every week in a separate container by themselves. Provide a bowl of chlorine-free water large enough for your snake to soak in.
Maintenance: Clean the entire enclosure on a weekly basis, and be sure to change the water twice a week.
